It's A Boy! Mark and Belinda Trussell proud parents!

Congratulations to Mark and Belinda Trussell proud parents of Mathew George Trussell, born Sunday May 29th, 2005 at 6.18 pm, weighing 8 lbs 3 oz and 21 1/4" long! Many of you may know that Mathew was conceived in Athens during the Olympic Games, so Mark wore his Athens T-shirt to welcome Mathew!

Dressage Canada rules updates!!!

Attention All Competitors - Dressage Canada Rules Amendments effective immediately!

Re: Re. FEI Art 428.2 Saddlery - EC page 39 Art, 2.21.2

A plain Dressage saddle, which must be close to the horse, which has long, near- vertical flaps with stirrups and must be black or brown in colour is compulsory in all levels.

There has been discussion about this recently published amendment and clarification is required. This is an FEI rule and the philosophy continues to be that EC rules, and therefore Dressage rules, be kept in line with FEI.

Rules are dynamic and ongoing changes to equipment such as spurs, bits and saddles mean that definitions may need to be modified to reflect these current standards. The current marketplace is promoting a wide variety of
decorated and stock seat type saddles for dressage including but not limited to Australian, Endurance, Baroque, Spanish, Stock and Western. This rule is to ensure that the plain English type saddle continue to be used for Dressage.

For 2005 Equine Canada sanctioned competitions (Primary, Provincial & National) the dressage and the basic English saddle will comply with the above rule.
