Canada West riders make a solid mark in the CDI3* Pebble Beach and CDI3* Woodside, California USA. Once again Canadian riders travelled below the border and managed to expand the two US CDI entry numbers by close to 50%! Riders included Leslie Reid on Orion, Karen Pavicic and Lionheart, Rochelle Kilburg and Lancer, Wendy Christhof and Palermo, Ashleigh Luca and, Devon Luca and Odette Williams and (who currently resides in Virginian US).
The CDI Pebble Beach saw Karen and Lionheart win both the Prix St Georges and Intermediate 1 with score respectively 69.450% & 70.600%. Leslie and Orion placed a strong 3rd in the PSG with 69.150% and 2nd in the Intermediate 1 with 68.500%. Leslie and Karen exchanged places in the Intermediate 1 Freestyle with Leslie winning and kern placing second and Rochelle a close 3rd, & Wendy 7th. Other Canadians made strong showings, Rochelle and Lancer PSG 5th 67.100%, Int 1 5th 66,900%, Wendy & Palermo PSG 8th with 63.600%. Devon Luca was very successful wining FEI Junior classes in both CDI Pebble Beach and Woodside. CDI Woodside again heard the Canadian anthem many times Leslie and Orion winning the PSG and Karen the Intermediate 1. Rochelle placing in the top 4 of both classes and Wendy clsoe behand. The Canadian combinations in the West are solid and it bodes well for the strong contingent that Canada will have to select from as their team in the upcoming selections that will take place in 2007 for the Pan American Game to be held late July in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
