Professional Career - Riding: Aged 7 - Trained by Fritz Tempelmann. In the following years intensive training in dressage, show jumping and eventing. Competed successfully at national level. 1974 - Qualified trainer and instructor for all equestrian disciplines (assessed by Major Paul Stecken in Munster)
Professional Career - Judging: 1974-1980 - Training as a judge for Show Jumping, Dressage and Eventing up to the highest level in Warendorf, Germany; Since 1980 Judging dressage at GP level. Ever since having judged GP, GP Special and GP freestyle at many national and international horse shows; January 2000 International judge (C); May 2003 International judge “I”; Since January 2000- Member of the Ground Jury of many CDI*** events ; 2000-2002 - President of the Ground Jury of the annual FEI World Dressage Challenge (Group V); 2003-2004 - President of the Ground Jury of the annual FEI World Dressage Challenge (Group X); Since 2005 - Ground Jury of the annual FEI World Dressage Challenge (Group VII); 2000-2001 - Member of the Ground Jury at the World Championships of Young Horses in Arnheim/NL and Verden/Germany; Since 1979 - Self-employed owner of a stud and training yard for competition horses, breeder of dressage horses and show jumpers successfully performing up to GP level (see: www.gutshof-engel.de); Since 1978 - Official of Pferdesportverband Rheinland”(Equestrian Federation of Rhineland) , especially engaged in youth matters; Since 1996 - Board member of “Pferdesportverband Rheinland” (Equestrian Federation of Rhineland); Since 2005 - Honorary member of Pferdesportverband Rheinland (Equestrian Federation of Rhineland) |
