Peter Engel
Born 25 August 1948, Essen, Germany
Professional Career - Riding: Aged 7 - Trained by Fritz Tempelmann. In the following years intensive training in dressage, show jumping and eventing. Competed successfully at national level. 1974 - Qualified trainer and instructor for all equestrian disciplines (assessed by Major Paul Stecken in Munster)

Professional Career - Judging: 1974-1980 - Training as a judge for Show Jumping, Dressage and Eventing up to the highest level in Warendorf, Germany; Since 1980 Judging dressage at GP level. Ever since having judged GP, GP Special and GP freestyle at many national and international horse shows; January 2000 International judge (C); May 2003 International judge “I”; Since January 2000- Member of the Ground Jury of many CDI*** events ; 2000-2002 - President of the Ground Jury of the annual FEI World Dressage Challenge (Group V); 2003-2004 - President of the Ground Jury of the annual FEI World Dressage Challenge (Group X); Since 2005 - Ground Jury of the annual FEI World Dressage Challenge (Group VII); 2000-2001 - Member of the Ground Jury at the World Championships of Young Horses in Arnheim/NL and Verden/Germany; Since 1979 - Self-employed owner of a stud and training yard for competition horses, breeder of dressage horses and show jumpers successfully performing up to GP level (see: www.gutshof-engel.de); Since 1978 - Official of Pferdesportverband Rheinland”(Equestrian Federation of Rhineland) , especially engaged in youth matters; Since 1996 - Board member of “Pferdesportverband Rheinland” (Equestrian Federation of Rhineland); Since 2005 - Honorary member of Pferdesportverband Rheinland (Equestrian Federation of Rhineland)

Joan Macartney (CAN) - FEI 4*
Joan Macartney is a Senior Dressage Judge with Equine Canada and USEF as well as a FEI(I) judge. Joan enjoys judging a variety of CDI and National dressage competitions primarily throughout Canada and the United States. She has recently returned from attending the FEI Freestyle Forum in Germany. Included in her officiating have been the World Cup Final in Canada and the 2004 NAYRC. A highlight of 2005 will be judging the North American Young Riders Championship. Joan maintains a career in education at the post secondary level and continues to ride her Hanoverian gelding.

Jane Holbrook
Jane Holbrook is a former member of the Candian Equestrian Team and was grand prix jumper rider during the 1960's. She now co-owns the successful sport horse breeding farm Rivergreen, producer of many Lt. Governor and Governor General Cup winners. She is also a well known and respected Equine Canada Senior Hunter and Jumper Judge, as well as an EC Senior National Steward and Dressage Steward.
